The Lady Meherbai D Tata Education Trust Scholarship supports Indian women graduates pursuing eligible higher education abroad. The programme focuses on Master’s study connected to women and children in fields such as public health, education, psychology, human rights, policy and social work.
Applicants must have applied to, or preferably secured admission from, a reputed institution in the United States, United Kingdom or Europe. The Trust expects scholars to bring their international knowledge and skills back to India and contribute to national development. The 2026–2027 cycle is closed.
Benefits & funding
- The award is a gift scholarship covering part of the tuition fee.
- The approximate award is ₹3–6 lakh per selected student, with the amount based on interview performance.
- Up to 10 women receive the scholarship each year.
Eligibility
- Applicants must be Indian women graduates from reputed universities with all final Bachelor’s or Master’s results available.
- Applicants need a consistent and remarkable academic record and must have applied to, or preferably secured admission from, a reputed institution in the United States, United Kingdom or Europe for 2026–2027.
- The course must focus on an accepted issue concerning women or children, including specified areas in health, education, counselling, gender studies, human rights, law, psychology, public health, policy, community development or social work.
- At least two years of relevant paid work experience is desired but is not a mandatory eligibility gate.
- Part-time, short-term, correspondence, certificate, exchange, undergraduate and distance-learning programmes are ineligible; applicants who have already started studying abroad are also ineligible.
