The Kupcinet-Getz International Summer Program is an annual research program administered by the Weizmann School of Science at the Weizmann Institute of Science. Participants join a research group in Rehovot for an eight-week project in mathematics, computer science, physics, chemistry or the life sciences.

The program also includes cross-disciplinary lectures, a presentation workshop and a concluding mini-symposium. This record reflects the latest published 2026 cycle, whose application window has closed.

Eligibility

  • Applicants must be current bachelor’s or master’s students, excluding PhD students, in physical sciences, chemical sciences, life sciences, mathematics or computer science and must have completed at least the first year of study; students in combined bachelor’s and master’s programs may apply.
  • Recent bachelor’s graduates in the same fields who are considering further academic study may also apply.
  • Applicants must show serious interest in scientific research, have a GPA of at least 3.6 on a 4.0 scale or its equivalent in their major, and be fluent in English.
  • Prior research experience is advantageous but is not required.
  • The program does not state a nationality, residency, age or gender restriction.

Application process

    Complete the online application and upload a passport title page, a CV with a passport-sized photo, an official transcript and any required signed English translation, and a motivation letter of no more than one page.

    List at least one and up to three participating Weizmann research-group heads whose laboratories are of interest.
  3. 3
    Provide at least one academic recommender; the system sends each recommender an individual link for direct letter submission.
  4. 4
    The program reviews complete files submitted by the deadline, ranks candidates, and forwards leading applications to scientists for final matching decisions.
  5. 5
    The Weizmann School of Science sends the admission result after matching is complete.
