The KOICA-YU Master’s Degree Program in Water Resources Management is delivered by KOICA and Yeungnam University’s Park Chung Hee School of Policy and Saemaul in Gyeongsan, South Korea. It prepares public-sector professionals to develop water policy and management capacity for their home countries.

The in-person curriculum covers hydrology, hydraulics, water governance, climate change, water quality, sustainable urban water management, field study, and thesis or research work. The latest verified cohort began in August 2025, and no later opening date is published.

Benefits & funding

  • The 2025 official KOICA Guatemala call described the scholarship as covering round-trip economy airfare, accommodation, meals, full tuition, medical insurance, and a monthly stipend.
  • It also listed student-visa processing, full medical examinations, and eligible thesis-research expenses.
  • The 2025 cohort had 15 places and a 17-month stay at Yeungnam University, followed by the remaining academic completion period.

Eligibility

  • Applicants must be citizens of countries designated annually by KOICA from the OECD DAC list of ODA recipients; the current list must be confirmed with the relevant KOICA office or Korean embassy.

  • A recognized bachelor’s degree equivalent to a four-year Korean degree is required.
  • Strong spoken and written English and good physical and mental health are required.
