Eligibility

• Citizenship of one of the 2025 KOICA-designated countries: Ghana, Nigeria, Rwanda, Morocco, Mozambique, Senegal, Algeria, Egypt, Uganda, Cameroon, Côte d’Ivoire, Kenya, Tanzania, Tunisia, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Gabon, Gambia, Niger, Lesotho, Libya, Madagascar, Malawi, Mauritius, Burkina Faso, Benin, Burundi, Sierra Leone, Angola, Zambia, Central African Republic, Zimbabwe, Togo, South Sudan, Liberia, Mali, Mauritania, São Tomé and Príncipe, Comoros, South Africa, Botswana, Guatemala, Dominican Republic, Bolivia, Ecuador, El Salvador, Colombia, Paraguay, Peru, Suriname, Honduras, Jamaica, Costa Rica, Guyana, Grenada, Dominica, Belize, Saint Lucia, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Nepal, Timor-Leste, Laos, Mongolia, Bangladesh, Vietnam, Sri Lanka, India, Indonesia, Cambodia, Pakistan, Philippines, Thailand, Fiji, Nauru, Niue, Marshall Islands, Vanuatu, Samoa, Solomon Islands, Kiribati, Tonga, Tuvalu, Papua New Guinea, Palau, Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan, Ukraine, Jordan, Iraq, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Georgia, Kazakhstan, or Turkmenistan. The list can change by cycle.
• Must be a government official and receive an official nomination from the applicant’s government.
• Must hold a four-year bachelor’s degree or higher and meet Yonsei’s program requirements.
• Must be mentally and physically able to complete the program and demonstrate university-level English proficiency.
• For applicants using the Tanzania route, being under 40 and having at least two years of relevant work experience are mandatory.
• Applicants who already completed a master’s degree funded by KOICA or another Korean government scholarship, or whose prior KOICA scholarship was cancelled, are ineligible.

Application process

   Confirm eligibility for the current cycle with the local KOICA office or Korean embassy and obtain the required government nomination.

   Submit the KOICA application package to that office or embassy by its local deadline.

   Complete the KOICA or embassy document screening and interview.

   If nominated, apply through Yonsei’s official admission system and complete document screening, the local medical check, and the university interview.
5. 5
   Submit authenticated original documents as instructed and complete the final medical check after arrival in Korea.
