Official Page

Katapult Africa is the Africa-focused accelerator arm of Katapult, a global impact investor founded in Oslo in 2015 with a portfolio of 170+ companies. It supports early-stage, for-profit startups whose products serve African markets, concentrating on agritech, foodtech and climate technology. Selected teams join a remote, cohort-based program built around intensive workshops, mentorship and investor connections, and can receive capital to scale. Applications go through a single online form that feeds Katapult Africa’s cohorts, each with its own deadline — the 2026 cohort closed on 25 April 2026; the team reviews each submission manually.

Benefits & funding

  • Reported investment of USD 150,000–500,000 in participating startups, made in exchange for equity — a dilutive investment, not a grant (figures from program coverage, as Katapult’s dedicated Africa accelerator page was retired in a 2026 site rebrand).
  • A 90-day program of intensive workshops, learning sessions and one-on-one mentorship from operators and impact investors.
  • Access to Katapult’s global network of investors, partners and portfolio founders, plus investor-readiness support and a pitch/investor day.
  • Note: Katapult charges participating startups a program fee to cover the accelerator’s costs (reported as deductible from the investment); confirm current terms on the application form.

Eligibility

  • For-profit startups building products or services for African markets.
  • Focus sectors: agritech, foodtech and climate tech (including clean energy, clean mobility, circular economy and sustainable agriculture).
  • Typically post-MVP or early-traction ventures with a scalable business model and a clear environmental or social impact.
  • Experienced founding teams with a credible path to commercialisation or early revenue.
  • Open to founders of any nationality.
