Katapult Africa is the Africa-focused accelerator arm of Katapult, a global impact investor founded in Oslo in 2015 with a portfolio of 170+ companies. It supports early-stage, for-profit startups whose products serve African markets, concentrating on agritech, foodtech and climate technology.
Selected teams join a remote, cohort-based program built around intensive workshops, mentorship and investor connections, and can receive capital to scale. Applications go through a single online form that feeds Katapult Africa’s cohorts, each with its own deadline — the 2026 cohort closed on 25 April 2026; the team reviews each submission manually.
Benefits & funding
- Reported investment of USD 150,000–500,000 in participating startups, made in exchange for equity — a dilutive investment, not a grant (figures from program coverage, as Katapult’s dedicated Africa accelerator page was retired in a 2026 site rebrand).
- A 90-day program of intensive workshops, learning sessions and one-on-one mentorship from operators and impact investors.
- Access to Katapult’s global network of investors, partners and portfolio founders, plus investor-readiness support and a pitch/investor day.
- Note: Katapult charges participating startups a program fee to cover the accelerator’s costs (reported as deductible from the investment); confirm current terms on the application form.
