The Los Angeles Philharmonic Association’s Judith and Thomas L. Beckmen LA Phil Resident Fellows program appoints early-career symphonic musicians to play with the orchestra for up to three years.
They perform with the LA Phil and Gustavo Dudamel at least 20 weeks a season, in orchestral, chamber, new music and education concerts at Walt Disney Concert Hall, the Hollywood Bowl and community venues, and can tour. It aims to prepare them to win posts in major orchestras.

Eligibility
- Violin, viola, cello, double bass, horn or percussion players.
- Early-career symphonic musicians with a demonstrated commitment to access and inclusion of underserved populations in the arts, learning and civic leadership.
- A bachelor’s degree.
- Already eligible to work in the United States; the LA Phil does not sponsor visas. Any nationality holding that work authorization may apply.
- Candidates may already hold a position in another orchestra.
- No age, gender or minimum-experience limit is published.
