John A. Tory JD/MBA Awards provide financial support to students entering the University of Toronto’s combined law and business degree. The award is supported by a gift from the Tory family and administered through the Faculty of Law and Rotman School of Management.

Recipients pursue the four-year JD/MBA in Toronto and graduate with both degrees. The official award pages do not publish the current number of awards, award value, or payment schedule.

Eligibility

  • Applicants must be entering the University of Toronto’s combined JD/MBA program and must be admitted separately to both the Faculty of Law and Rotman.
  • JD/MBA admission requires an appropriate bachelor’s degree with at least a 3.0 final-year GPA and a satisfactory LSAT score; no work experience is required.
  • Preference is given for leadership shown through community or school engagement, while applicants from underrepresented groups also receive consideration.
  • The published award criteria state no nationality, residence, gender, or age restriction.

Application process

    After enrolling in the JD program, submit a separate online application to Rotman for the JD/MBA.

    Complete the JD/MBA requirements, including transcripts, LSAT results, two references, and two timed written questions.
