Official Page

ISFiT (International Student Festival in Trondheim) is a biennial festival run by student volunteers in Trondheim, Norway, first held in 1990. Every two years it gathers 350 students from around the world for roughly eleven days of workshops, plenary debates, dialogue, art, and music built around a single global theme.

The 2027 edition, themed “Changing Winds,” runs 11–21 February 2027 and asks how young people navigate political change, climate pressure, and shifting global realities. Selection weighs motivation and engagement rather than grades, and all activity is conducted in English.

Benefits & funding

  • Participation in the festival is free of charge.
  • Accommodation and meals during the festival are provided.
  • Need-based travel funding can be applied for — but accepted participants still book and pay for their own airfare or tickets, even when travel funding is granted.
  • A full program of workshops, debates, and cultural events, plus a global peer network.

Eligibility

  • Must be an active student during the spring 2027 semester.
  • Comfortable communicating in English (all festival activities are in English).
  • Open to all nationalities and academic disciplines.
  • No stated age limit; selection is based on motivation and engagement.
