The IOE Centenary Master’s Scholarships support students taking eligible full-time, campus-based master’s degrees at UCL’s Institute of Education in London. IOE offers the awards with International Students House, including the IOE–ISH Centenary Scholarship and the Mary Trevelyan Centenary Scholarship.

Applications for the 2026–27 cycle are closed. UCL says applications will reopen in January 2027 but has not published an exact opening day or a new deadline.

Benefits & funding

  • Full international tuition fees for one academic year.
  • A single room at International Students House for one academic year, with shared bathroom and kitchen facilities.
  • The award does not cover subsistence, travel, family costs, or other expenses and is not paid as cash.

Eligibility

  • Be permanently domiciled in one of UCL’s listed low- or lower-middle-income countries: Afghanistan, Angola, Bangladesh, Benin, Bhutan, Bolivia, Burkina Faso, Burundi, Cambodia, Cameroon, Central African Republic, Chad, Comoros, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Republic of the Congo, Côte d’Ivoire, Djibouti, Egypt, Eritrea, Eswatini, Ethiopia, Gambia, Ghana, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Haiti, Honduras, India, Jordan, Kenya, Kiribati, North Korea, Kyrgyzstan, Laos, Lebanon, Lesotho, Liberia, Madagascar, Malawi, Mali, Mauritania, Micronesia, Morocco, Mozambique, Myanmar, Namibia, Nepal, Nicaragua, Niger, Nigeria, Pakistan, Papua New Guinea, Philippines, Rwanda, São Tomé and Príncipe, Senegal, Sierra Leone, Solomon Islands, Somalia, South Sudan, Sri Lanka, Sudan, Syria, Tajikistan, Tanzania, Timor-Leste, Togo, Tunisia, Uganda, Uzbekistan, Vanuatu, Vietnam, Palestine, Yemen, Zambia, or Zimbabwe.
  • Hold an official unconditional offer from UCL Admissions for an eligible full-time, campus-based master’s degree at IOE.
  • Have never previously studied or lived in the UK.
  • Online and part-time courses and the MA/MSc Educational Neuroscience are ineligible.
