Eligibility
- Be enrolled in a department at a foreign university designated by the Heiwa Nakajima Foundation.

- Applicants must not hold Japanese nationality.
- The published route required current undergraduate enrollment — second year or above, and not the final year of the degree.
- That route also required a JLPT certificate from N3 to N1 (N2 or above preferred), a set minimum grade average, no competing scholarship for the same period, and no previous study in Japan.
- Be selected and recommended through the university; private individual applications are not accepted.
