The International Student Leadership Award - Winter 2027 is a competitive entrance scholarship from Toronto Metropolitan University. It supports international students entering post-secondary education for the first time in a full-time four-year undergraduate degree, or a five-year degree if a co-op option is selected, beginning in Toronto in January 2027. Selection considers academic performance, volunteering, club involvement and leadership qualities.
Benefits & funding
- CAD 10,000 as a one-time, non-renewable entrance award.
- Up to 20 students may receive the award.
- The award may be combined with specified TMU entrance scholarships up to an overall annual maximum of CAD 15,000.
Eligibility
- Be an international student with a valid study permit by the start of the winter term in January 2027.
- Be completing or have completed a recognized and approved secondary-school curriculum in Canada or abroad.
- Enter a post-secondary institution for the first time and apply to a full-time four-year TMU undergraduate degree, or a five-year degree if a co-op option is selected.
- Be required to pay international tuition fees.
- Achieve a final admission average of at least 86% or the equivalent.
- Maintain at least 80% of a full course load upon enrolment.
- Any gap between secondary and post-secondary study must be no longer than one academic year.
- Students in an English Language Institute ESL Pathway Program are not eligible for this award. For Collaborative Nursing, only applicants admitted to the TMU site are eligible.
