The International English Admission Scholarship is offered by the University of Ottawa to newly admitted international students beginning in Winter 2026 or later. It supports full-time study in approved English-language undergraduate programs in Arts, Engineering, Health Sciences, Science, Social Sciences or the Telfer School of Management.
Eligible students are considered automatically through undergraduate admission and are notified with their admission decision. The scholarship reduces tuition rather than covering all study and living costs.
Benefits & funding
- CAD 7,500 per term, for a stated total of CAD 60,000 over a four-year degree.
- Renewable for up to 12 instalments while the recipient remains full time in an eligible undergraduate faculty.
- A full Spring–Summer instalment is available to full-time students who meet the renewal rules; eligible part-time Spring–Summer enrolment of at least six units can receive 50%, which still counts as one instalment.
- The award cannot be combined with the undergraduate Differential Tuition Fee Exemption Scholarship and is not paid for co-op work terms.
Eligibility
- Be an international student with a valid Canadian study permit and pay international tuition fees; students paying domestic fees, including Canadian citizens with dual citizenship, are not eligible.
- Be newly admitted for Winter 2026 or later to an approved English-language undergraduate program in Arts, Engineering, Health Sciences, Science, Social Sciences or the Telfer School of Management.
- Have a minimum admission average of 80%.
- Do not enrol in a French-language program or the French immersion stream.
- Enrol full time; the stated Spring–Summer part-time exception applies only to renewal instalments.
