This voluntary summer research internship is one project within Özyeğin University’s Undergraduate Research Summer Program. Two undergraduate interns work on campus in Istanbul under Associate Professor Barkan Uğurlu from 29 June to 7 August 2026.
One role covers mechanical design and CAD; the other covers simulation and locomotion control. The two workstreams contribute to an integrated bipedal robot through mechanical modeling, actuator integration, dynamics, control algorithms, and simulation.
Benefits & funding
- Laboratory access, technical training, and guidance are provided.
- Accommodation and lunch are provided during the summer term.
- The official materials do not state a cash stipend or travel support.
Eligibility
- Applicants must be enrolled in an undergraduate program at Özyeğin University, another university in Türkiye, or a university outside Türkiye.
- The mechanical-design role requires a mechanical-engineering or related background, strong CAD and assembly skills, and knowledge of mechanical analysis, kinematics, and manufacturability.
- The simulation-and-control role requires robotics, linear algebra, and control knowledge, C/C++ and Linux proficiency, plus kinematic or dynamic modeling and simulation experience.
