IISMA is an Indonesian government mobility scholarship, delivered with LPDP, for students to spend one semester at an overseas partner institution. Participants take courses for personal and academic development, gain international academic and cultural exposure, and may receive credit recognition from their home institution.

The 2024 cycle offered regular, affirmation, and co-funding routes. The latest official general-cycle material found was for 2024, so applicants should treat the program as between cycles and verify any future call on the IISMA portal.

Benefits & funding

  • The regular and affirmation routes were described as full scholarships in the 2024 call.
  • Official scholarship coverage published for the prior cycle included registration and tuition, health insurance, a living allowance, flights, and visa costs.
  • The 2024 co-funding route covered program administration, tuition, and departure airfare through public funding; students shared the remaining costs.
  • Participants study at an overseas partner institution for one semester; the 2024 co-funding cohort ran for five months.

Eligibility

  • The program is for Indonesian students enrolled at eligible domestic higher-education institutions.
  • The 2024 undergraduate call covered students in semesters 4 through 6.
  • The last detailed vocational criteria page accessed covered Diploma 3 students in semester 4 and Diploma 4 students in semester 4 or 6.
  • The last detailed criteria page accessed required a minimum GPA of 3.0 and an accepted English-language score; thresholds differed between undergraduate and vocational routes and by test.
  • In 2024, the affirmation route was aimed at Bidikmisi or KIP-K recipients and students from designated disadvantaged regions. The co-funding route followed the regular and affirmation decisions and used a smaller host list.
