Indigenous Women’s Program Fellowship 2026 — Fellowship

The Indigenous Women’s Program Fellowship is a year-long Land is Life program designed and led by Indigenous women. It supports emerging Indigenous women leaders working to advance gender equality, community well-being, and Indigenous Peoples’ land and resource rights.

Fellows develop a community-level project, receive mentoring, join monthly training and peer learning, and may receive advocacy support for participation in decision-making spaces. The 2026 cohort began on January 12, 2026, and applications for that cohort are closed.

Benefits & funding

A USD 3,600 stipend supports participation throughout the fellowship.
Up to USD 3,000 in funding and technical support is available to design and implement a community-level project.
Fellows receive personalized mentoring from experienced Indigenous women leaders.
Monthly training, peer learning, leadership development, networking, and advocacy support are included.

Eligibility

Applicants must be Indigenous women between 18 and 35 years old.
Former Land is Life fellows are not eligible.
Applicants must develop a community project that promotes Indigenous Peoples’ rights, with particular attention to the rights of Indigenous women and girls.
The official call does not state nationality, residency, degree, or minimum work-experience requirements.
