The ICYF Young Climate Volunteers Camp is an annual program run by the Islamic Cooperation Youth Forum (ICYF) — the youth arm of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) — together with the Ministry of Youth and Sports of the Republic of Türkiye. The 2026 edition ran in Istanbul in two single-gender sessions of six days each — men on 3–8 April and women on 10–15 April 2026 — under the theme “Empowering Youth for Climate Action to Build Climate-Resilient Communities.”
Through project-based training workshops, participants build the skills to lead climate-resilience initiatives in their home communities. Applications for the 2026 cycle closed on 19 February 2026; the camp is expected to run again in 2027.
Benefits & funding
- Food and accommodation in Istanbul are covered by the host organization for the duration of the camp.
- International travel is reimbursed up to USD 250; participants based in Türkiye receive domestic-travel reimbursement of up to 3,500 TL, and local transport within Istanbul is covered.
- A city tour is included, and health insurance is provided for the duration of the camp.
- Participants who attend in full receive a certificate of participation from ICYF and its partners.
Eligibility
- Applicants must be 18–35 years old for the 2026 cycle.
- Applicants must be nationals of an OIC Member State or OIC Observer Country.
- Ability to communicate in English.
- Interest or engagement in climate change, climate resilience, disaster risk reduction, or environmental volunteering.
- Willing to take part in volunteer-based and field activities, committed to attending the full camp, and motivated to share and apply what they learn in their communities.
