Brown University’s Health Services Research Ph.D. trains researchers to study health care delivery, provider behavior, costs and policy with the aim of improving population health. The program is based in the School of Public Health’s Department of Health Services, Policy and Practice in Providence, Rhode Island.
Students build an analytic foundation and may follow a general track or emphasize pharmacoepidemiology, health economics, comparative effectiveness research and evidence-based medicine. The degree includes coursework, written examinations and an independently defended dissertation.
