The Hasselblad Foundation International Photobook Grant supports the production and publication of photographic book projects. It is open internationally to professionals working with photography, including photographers, artists, curators, researchers, and writers. Individuals and groups may apply, and projects must be substantially edited and designed but not yet published.

The 2026 cycle is closed. The foundation says the next application round will open in early 2027, but it has not published an exact opening date.

Benefits & funding

  • Two grants of SEK 100,000 each are awarded.

  • Funded books must identify the Hasselblad Foundation as a co-funder, include its logo, and provide the foundation with five signed copies.

Eligibility

  • Open internationally to professionals working with photography, including photographers, artists, curators, researchers, and writers.
  • Applications may come from individuals or groups.
  • The book project must be substantially edited and designed and must not already have been published.
  • A digital dummy is required.
  • The application must be in English. A book may be in another language, but it must include an English synopsis.
  • No nationality, residency, degree, age, gender, or stated minimum-years-of-experience restriction is published.

Application process

    Wait for the next application round, which the foundation says will open in early 2027, and review its updated terms.

    Prepare an English application, a PDF digital dummy of no more than 100 MB, and a JPG cover or photograph of the physical dummy.
