Harvard Model United Nations

Application Deadline

November 1, 2026

Harvard Model United Nations (HMUN) is a four-day, Harvard-student-run simulation for high school delegations, held each year in downtown Boston.

For HMUN 2027 its organisers run a need-based financial aid programme for delegations that cannot raise the full cost of attending. Aid weighs both demonstrated need and the fundraising a delegation has already done.

Benefits & funding

  • Need-based help toward conference costs; no award amount or ceiling is published.
  • Recipients must stay at one of the two conference hotels (Sheraton Boston, Copley Marriott), quoted at US$229 a night for single to triple rooms and US$260 for quads, before tax.

Eligibility

  • Open to delegations from any country.
  • Delegates must be 13 or older and in high school, or recently graduated and not yet in college, at conference time; college students are barred.
  • Each delegation travels with a faculty advisor aged 18 or over; at most 20 delegates per delegation.
  • Delegations are expected to have sought all other funding before applying.
