Halcyon Latin America & the Caribbean (LAC) Climate Accelerator

Benefits & funding

• US$6,000 equity-free stipend per venture.
• US$10,000 in Amazon Web Services (AWS) credits.
• Two week-long in-person residencies. In the 2026 cycle: Bogotá, Colombia (13–20 March 2026) and Medellín, Colombia (21–28 August 2026).

Eligibility

• For-profit startups based in Latin America and the Caribbean. Halcyon names the region but publishes no country list, so applicants from Caribbean overseas territories should confirm with Halcyon before applying.
• A working minimum viable product with realistic potential to scale, shown through early user feedback or commercial validation such as pilots, letters of intent or revenue.
• Work in climate adaptation and resilience: renewable energy systems, adaptive infrastructure, climate intelligence, climate-smart agriculture, water tech and the blue economy. Halcyon states that mitigation-only solutions sit outside its climate criteria, unless mitigation is a secondary benefit of adaptation work.
• The product must contribute to one or more UN Sustainable Development Goals.
• The applicant must be the venture’s CEO or hold primary decision-making power. Up to one co-founder may take part alongside the lead applicant.
• Fluent English.
• At least 21 years old at the start of the program.
• Commitment to take part in every residency and program activity.
• Open to entrepreneurs regardless of background or experience. Halcyon encourages teams with at least one woman founder or co-founder to apply; this is a preference, not a requirement.

Application process

   Fill in Halcyon’s eligibility form, which stays open year-round and is reviewed on a rolling basis. One form covers every Halcyon program.
2. 2
   Wait for an invitation. When a program opens its call, ventures that fit the criteria are invited by email to a second-round application and have about two weeks to complete it.

   Complete the invitational application, which goes into detail on team, traction and impact.

   Halcyon scores each application on four criteria — impact, scalability, innovation and talent — and shortlists finalists.

   Finalists pitch an external Selections Committee in a virtual pitch. For the 2026 cycle this happened in late December 2025.

   Selected founders are notified by email — mid-to-late January 2026 for the 2026 cohort — and join the virtual kickoff.
