Georgetown University in Qatar

Application Deadline

Official Page

GU-Q Grant is Georgetown University in Qatar’s annual need-based award for undergraduate students. Applicants must apply to and be admitted to GU-Q, then submit financial information for assessment.

GU-Q determines need from CSS Profile data and supporting documents; U.S. citizens also submit FAFSA. The award is recalculated each year, and students must reapply annually.

Benefits & funding

  • The award amount is individualized from the student’s demonstrated financial need rather than set at a fixed value.
  • GU-Q assesses tuition, books, university fees, insurance, housing, meals, and other personal costs according to the applicant’s residency situation.
  • The aid calculation uses cost of attendance minus the estimated family contribution, with a minimum family contribution of USD 1,000 regardless of income.
  • A financial aid package may combine the GU-Q Grant with scholarships, federal aid, sponsorships, or other eligible sources.

Eligibility

  • Applicants must apply to and be admitted to a GU-Q undergraduate program; returning undergraduates may reapply each year.
  • Financial need must be documented through the CSS Profile and the required supporting documents.
  • U.S. citizens must also submit FAFSA to be eligible for a GU-Q aid package.
  • No nationality, residency, gender, age, or work-experience restriction is stated for the GU-Q Grant.
