The Gold Standard Scholarship is a University of Alberta entrance award based on admission average. Applicants are assessed automatically when they apply for undergraduate admission; there is no scholarship form.
It is listed only under “Domestic Students” on the general Entrance Scholarships page and no longer appears on the International Entrance Scholarships page, where international applicants are assessed for separate admission-based awards.

- Up to $6,000, based on admission average.
Eligibility
- Domestic students only. The scholarships page does not define the term; another university page defines domestic as a Canadian citizen, Permanent Resident or Refugee/Protected Person.
- Top 5% of entering students in each faculty, by high school admission average at the time of the admission offer.
- Entering directly from high school into the first year of full-time study in an undergraduate degree program, starting in September.
