Going Global Partnerships – TVET

Benefits & funding

• Grants of £25,000 to £30,000 per partnership. The 2026 round funds seven: two in Egypt (£25,000 each), one in Ghana (£30,000), one in Malawi (£25,000), two in Morocco (£25,000 each) and one in Uganda (£30,000).
• Each partnership runs 15 months, with the grant payment period from 6 November 2026 to 6 February 2028, including planning and reporting time.
• British Council teams in the UK and in the partner country give advice and help the two sides communicate through the project.
• Eligible costs include economy travel, accommodation and subsistence, consultancy fees, equipment essential to the project, training events, publication costs, staff time and monitoring and evaluation.
• Budget caps: staff costs up to 30% of the grant, expertise or consultancy costs up to 20%, international travel and subsistence up to 20%.
• Institutional overheads, standard office equipment and software, mobile phone costs, intellectual-property expenses, construction or rental of infrastructure, entertainment, and any profit or fee charged to the grant cannot be claimed.
• Matching funds are welcomed but are not required.

Eligibility

• Applications come from institutions, not individuals. There is no nationality, residency, age, gender or degree requirement on the person who submits.
• The lead institution must be based in the UK and must be a further education college, an independent training provider listed on the UK Register of Learning Providers, a membership organisation with a role in the TVET or further education system, a sector skills organisation, or an awarding body.
• Associate partners may include employer organisations and industry bodies, education organisations, charities and foundations, public or private TVET and further education organisations, non-governmental and civil-society organisations, government bodies, and universities.
• For-profit organisations outside education may receive funds only to cover travel-associated costs.
• The lead institution administers the grant.
• A lead institution may submit up to three applications and must rank them in priority order. An institution ordinarily receives no more than two grants, though the British Council can award three in exceptional cases.
• Incomplete applications are ruled ineligible immediately, with no chance to resubmit.

Application process

   Read the call guidance and choose which of the seven country opportunities to bid for, checking its country context, named international partner, sector and cross-cutting focus areas.

   Register on the Going Global Partnerships Grants Portal and open the form titled Going Global Partnerships – TVET – multi-country ISPs 2026.

   Complete the eligibility check as the UK lead institution, then select the opportunity being applied for.

   Set out the project approach, objectives, activities, expected outcomes, gender and inclusion analysis, environmental and ethical considerations, budget and risks, in English.

   Attach a signed support letter from the head of department or an authorised signatory, the lead applicant’s CV, and associate-partner letters where relevant.

   Submit one form per opportunity before 12.00 GMT on 10 September 2026.
