The GMGSF College Scholarship Program is run by the Girls Make Games Scholarship Fund for US-based students preparing for game-development-related undergraduate study. It combines a tuition grant with industry mentorship, internship placement support, and career-readiness and job-placement support.
The 2026 cycle is closed. Its eligible routes were high school seniors entering an accredited four-year US college or university in fall 2026, and community-college students transferring to an accredited four-year institution that fall.
Benefits & funding
- A $10,000 tuition grant, paid as $2,500 per year for up to four years after successful completion of credits.
- Scholarship funds are paid directly to the recipient’s college.
- Recipients receive industry mentorship, internship placement support, and career-readiness and job-placement support.
- A fifth-year renewal may be considered case by case.
Eligibility
- Be based in the United States; the official criteria do not state a US citizenship requirement.
- Identify as a woman or non-binary person.
- Be either a high school senior accepted to an undergraduate program at an accredited four-year US college or university for fall 2026, or a community-college student planning to transfer to an accredited four-year institution for fall 2026.
- Plan to pursue a degree related to video game development.
- Demonstrate financial need, complete the FAFSA, and provide the FAFSA Student Aid Report and proof of acceptance into a US college.
- To keep later installments, remain enrolled and progressing in a games degree or program, participate in the required mentorship and career-readiness programs, and provide feedback when requested.
