The competition funds practical projects that strengthen community resilience to floods and droughts and support Early Warnings for All. It is organized through APFM and IDMP, joint programmes of the World Meteorological Organization and Global Water Partnership, in partnership with the Water Youth Network.
Individuals, youth-led organizations, and teams of young professionals may propose a project for implementation anywhere in the world. Two selected project leaders will implement their initiatives for up to nine months with guidance from flood and drought experts.

- Two selected initiatives each receive a CHF 3,000 project grant.

- Each initiative may run for no more than nine months.
Eligibility
- The project must be led by a student or young professional aged 18–35.
- Project activities must actively involve young people younger than 35.
- Individuals, youth-led organizations, and teams of young professionals may submit projects, with no academic degree, nationality, or residency restriction stated.
- Projects may be implemented anywhere globally and must make a concrete contribution to flood or drought resilience.
- Each proposal must be practical and results-oriented, with clear objectives, scope, timeline, tangible outputs, scalability, sustainability, and a feasible innovative element.
- Projects in Least Developed Countries and Small Island Developing States receive priority, as do projects using gender-transformative approaches, Indigenous knowledge, or nature-based solutions; these are preferences rather than eligibility gates.
