Official Page

The Global Excellence Postgraduate Scholarships are Trinity College Dublin’s own awards for international students starting a full-time taught postgraduate course in Dublin. Each award takes €2,000 to €5,000 off the tuition bill once, and the exact figure is set by the region the student applies from. Trinity selects on academic achievement and on the applicant’s potential to contribute to the Trinity community, and allocates awards with regional and programme diversity in mind.

Applicants must already hold a course offer and be billed at the non-EU tuition rate. Courses in business, engineering, natural sciences, and computer science and statistics run their own separate scholarship schemes and sit outside this one. Applicants from China apply to the parallel China Claddagh Postgraduate Scholarship at the same university.

Benefits & funding

  • One-time tuition fee reduction of €2,000 to €5,000, with the amount set by the applicant’s region.
  • Applied directly to the tuition bill. There is no cash payment and no living stipend.
  • The remaining tuition and all living costs in Dublin are funded from other sources.
  • The award is released once the recipient fully accepts the course offer.

Eligibility

  • Holds an offer for a full-time postgraduate taught programme at Trinity commencing in the advertised academic year.
  • Classified at non-EU fee status, with tuition billed at the non-EU rate.
  • Courses in business, engineering, natural sciences, and computer science and statistics are excluded; those schools run separate scholarship schemes.
  • Applicants from China are outside this scheme and are directed to the China Claddagh Postgraduate Scholarship.
  • Open to all fields within the eligible faculties. No age, work-experience, or gender conditions are published.
