The Girls Who Invest Scholars Program is a tuition-free training program run by Girls Who Invest, a US non-profit working to bring more women into investment management.
Scholars begin with a shared virtual curriculum in December 2026. From April 2027 most continue in the self-paced Online Intensive Program; Scholars matched with a partner-firm internship mostly join the Summer Intensive Program: four weeks at the Wharton School in Philadelphia, then a paid internship.
Benefits & funding
- No tuition; coursework covers Excel, accounting, financial statement analysis and financial modelling, plus career development.
- Sophomores on the Internship Track can be matched to a paid internship at a partner firm (seven weeks after the Wharton training); a match is not guaranteed.
- Alumni keep access to career resources.
- Full participation is required; Summer Intensive Scholars must attend the whole Wharton training and internship without other commitments.
Eligibility
- First-year or sophomore standing, set by expected graduation between fall 2028 and spring 2030, not by credits.
- Attending or transferring to an accredited four-year US or US-style college or university, with a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Second-year students at two-year US colleges qualify if transferring to a four-year school for fall 2027, with proof of transfer plans.
- All majors and genders; no finance experience, minimum GPA or test scores needed.
- No citizenship restriction, but most internship matches need unrestricted US work authorization.
- Must be 18 by 1 May 2027 for in-person programming.
- Only sophomores can opt into the Internship Track.
