Future African Leader Scholarship — Master's Scholarship

BI Norwegian Business School offers two Future African Leader Scholarships for students entering eligible MSc programmes at its Oslo or Bergen campuses. The 2026 awards are for first-year students commencing in Autumn 2026; the BI–Luiss Joint Masters in Marketing is excluded. The scholarship supports BI’s participation in the GBSN Network and GMAC Study in Europe Initiative.

Awards are based on academic merit rather than financial need. BI considers the scholarship only alongside a complete MSc admission application and after the applicant accepts an admission offer.

Benefits & funding

Full tuition fees for up to two years.
A living-expense stipend of NOK 50,000 per semester.
Continuation requires 30 ECTS of full study progression each semester and a minimum cumulative grade of B on BI’s ECTS scale after each semester.

Eligibility

Applicants must have international citizenship and must not reside in Norway.
Applicants must be entering their first master’s degree and be admitted to the first year of an eligible MSc programme at Campus Oslo or Campus Bergen. The BI–Luiss Joint Masters in Marketing is not eligible.
A minimum overall GPA of 4.0 on the ECTS scale is required; BI converts grades from international education to the ECTS scale.
Applicants must submit strong GMAT or GRE scores required for admission and meet the selected MSc programme’s admission requirements.
BI gives preference to current students or recent graduates of a GBSN member school in Africa, or citizens of an African country who attended a GMAC Study in Europe event online or in person in Africa. This is a preference, not a stated citizenship restriction.
The admission application must be complete, and the applicant must accept the admission offer for the scholarship application to be considered.

Application process

Select an eligible MSc programme at Campus Oslo or Campus Bergen and apply for admission through BI’s online portal.

Prepare a CV and a scholarship application letter of no more than one page, then combine them into one PDF.

In the letter, identify either the applicant’s enrolment at or graduation from a GBSN member school, or the GMAC Study in Europe event attended with its date and place.

Upload the PDF in the portal section marked ‘Scholarship’ together with all admission documents by the scholarship deadline; email applications and late applications are not accepted.

Accept any admission offer while awaiting the scholarship decision. BI says all master’s scholarship applicants are informed by the end of April.
