Funding for work that builds capacity to address risks from transformative AI

Coefficient Giving funds projects that strengthen society’s ability to address risks from transformative AI. The call supports individuals and organizations running full- or part-time initiatives, including training and mentorship, events, groups, and public-facing resources.

Projects may work across technical alignment, model evaluation and forecasting, AI governance and policy, information security, the economics of AI, and related fields. Activities may be online or in person, and no single host location is required.

Benefits & funding

Funding may range from small grants to individuals to multi-year grants for organizations.
The program does not publish a fixed award amount or grant term.
Both full-time and part-time capacity-building projects may be supported.

Individuals and organizations may apply.
Proposals should build capacity to address risks from advanced or transformative AI by bringing in new talent, supporting existing talent, or improving informed discourse.
General direct research is not the main focus; a research group may instead seek support for training, mentorship, events, or other capacity-building work.
