The Ford Fellowship is an annual academic award for current first-year Wharton MBA students. Wharton bases it on first-year academic performance in the MBA program.

The recipient has the highest first-year GPA in the cohort after completing at least 9 course units. The academic-awards page describes selection from results and publishes no separate application step.

Benefits & funding

  • The recipient receives a $10,000 grant.
  • If more than three students tie, a total grant pool of $30,000 is divided equally among all recipients.

Eligibility

  • Candidates must be current first-year students in the Wharton MBA program and complete at least 9 course units during that year.
  • The award goes to the student or tied students with the highest first-year academic performance.
  • Students with a Fail grade or an MBA Code of Ethics violation are ineligible for academic awards.
  • Wharton states no nationality or country-residency requirement for this award.
