The Finansforbundet Master Scholarship is an externally sponsored tuition award administered by BI Norwegian Business School for its full-time Master in Finance. It is intended for academically strong Finansforbundet members with Norwegian citizenship who are pursuing their first master’s degree.
The scholarship applies to the two-year programme following the standard study plan. BI states that no internship, thesis counselling, or employment opportunity is attached.
Benefits & funding
- Covers tuition fees for up to two years under the standard study plan.
- Continuation requires 30 ECTS of full study progression each semester and a minimum cumulative GPA of B after every semester.
- The published benefit does not include an internship, thesis counselling, or an employment opportunity; BI does not state a cash or living-cost award.
Eligibility
- Hold Norwegian citizenship.
- Be a Finansforbundet member and provide a membership number with consent for BI to verify membership.
- Apply to and receive an offer for BI’s Master in Finance commencing in autumn 2026.
- Be seeking a first master’s degree.
- Have a minimum overall GPA of 4.0 on the ECTS scale for scholarship consideration; BI converts grades from international education to that scale.
- Hold a qualifying completed bachelor’s degree and meet BI’s applicable Master in Finance admission requirements.
- BI states no separate residence, age, gender, or work-experience requirement for this scholarship.

Application process
- 1Apply for the Master in Finance and the scholarship at the same time.
- 2Prepare a scholarship letter of no more than one page explaining the case for the award and interest in finance.
- 3Include the Finansforbundet membership number and the required consent for BI to verify membership.
- 4Upload the letter and all admission documents in the Scholarship section of BI’s online admission application by March 1; applications are not accepted by email or directly by Finansforbundet.
- 5Accept the admission offer while awaiting the scholarship decision.
