BI Norwegian Business School created the Financial Aid Award after the invasion of Ukraine and later expanded it to people in Norway under collective protection or refugee status. For the 2026 intake, it offers up to 10 tuition waivers for first-year, full-time bachelor’s or master’s students.

Study begins in August 2026 at any BI campus. The award does not cover the BI-Luiss Joint Master in Marketing.

Benefits & funding

  • Tuition is waived for up to two years for a master’s degree or up to three years for a bachelor’s degree.
  • BI may renew the award each year within those limits.
  • Recipients must document their collective protection or refugee status at the start of every academic year for renewal.
  • BI does not state that living expenses are covered.

Eligibility

  • Applicants must be in Norway with collective protection or refugee status by August 2026.
  • Applicants must be admitted to the first year of a full-time, three-year bachelor’s degree or two-year master’s degree at a BI campus, starting in August 2026.
  • The applicant must be seeking a first bachelor’s or first master’s degree.
  • The BI-Luiss Joint Master in Marketing is excluded.
  • There is no stated nationality, gender, age, or work-experience requirement.
  • Applicants able to document the required status in Norway when applying receive priority; academic standing is also considered.

Application process

    Apply for admission to an eligible full-time BI bachelor’s or master’s programme.
  2. 2
    For an English-taught bachelor’s or a master’s degree, upload a Financial Aid Award application letter, CV, and proof of status under the scholarship section of the application portal.

    For a Norwegian-taught bachelor’s degree, email the letter, CV, and proof of status to info@bi.no with the subject Application for Financial Aid Award 2026.
  4. 4
    Accept any admission offer while waiting for the award decision.
  5. 5
    If selected, accept the award by the date stated in BI’s offer.
