The Faculty Mobility for Partnership Building Program is funded by Global Affairs Canada to build or deepen partnerships between Canadian post-secondary institutions and eligible institutions in Latin America and the Caribbean. Full-time professors travel for 3–8 weeks to teach, conduct research, or combine both activities.

Canadian Designated Learning Institutions apply on behalf of candidates. The 2026–2027 call is closed, and the official site has not announced the next cycle.

Benefits & funding

  • A grant of up to CAD 7,000 supports a 3–8 week visit.
  • Eligible costs include direct and economical transportation, visa or work-permit fees, health insurance, accommodation, utilities, and food.
  • Equipment purchases such as computers, tablets, phones, and printers are not eligible.

Eligibility

  • The candidate must be a full-time professor at a Canadian post-secondary institution.
  • The applying Canadian institution must be a Designated Learning Institution.
  • The host institution must be in an eligible country or territory in the Caribbean, Central America, Mexico, or South America listed on the official program page.
  • No nationality, residence, age, gender, degree-level, or minimum-experience requirement is stated; institutional employment is the controlling candidate requirement.

Application process

    Contact the Canadian institution’s international office and arrange a host institution and proposed partnership-building activities.
  2. 2
    The Canadian institution assigns a coordinator and uses an institution account in My EduCanada.
  3. 3
    Prepare the budget form, a candidate CV of no more than six pages, an invitation letter on the host institution’s letterhead, and a signed privacy notice dated within the previous six months.
  4. 4
    The coordinator completes, validates, and submits the online form with all supporting documents before the institution’s deadline.
