EU Window Chinese Government Scholarship — Bachelor's Scholarship

The EU Window Chinese Government Scholarship supports citizens of EU Member States undertaking degree study, Chinese-language study, or academic research at designated universities in mainland China. It covers undergraduate, master’s, doctoral, general-scholar, and senior-scholar routes.

China’s Ministry of Education established the scholarship, while the Mission of the People’s Republic of China to the European Union handles annual recruitment on behalf of the China Scholarship Council. The 2026/2027 application round is closed, and the next opening date has not been published.

Eligibility

Applicants must be citizens of Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czechia, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, the Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, or Sweden, and must be in good health.
Route-specific education and age caps apply: high-school completion and age 25 for undergraduate study; a bachelor’s degree and age 35 for master’s study; a master’s degree and age 40 for doctoral study; high-school completion and age 45 for general scholars; or a master’s degree or associate-professor rank and age 50 for senior scholars.
Applicants must satisfy the selected university’s academic and language requirements; Chinese-taught programs generally require HSK 3 or above, while Chinese-language study is exempt.
Undergraduate applicants must submit a valid CSCA score report.
Scholarship recipients cannot simultaneously hold another Chinese government-funded scholarship.

Application process

Review eligible universities, programs, and required documents through Campus China.

Contact the chosen university and obtain a pre-admission notice, pre-admission letter, or supervisor acceptance letter.

Undergraduate applicants complete the required CSCA assessment and obtain a valid score report.

Register in the CSC online application system, select Type A, and enter agency number 00006.

Upload the required documents in English, rank the intended university first, and submit online; the 2026/2027 deadline was February 8, 2026.
