EBRD hires interns into paid positions when individual teams have a need; it does not run a formal intake cycle. Roles can involve development projects, financial analysis, sector or company research, economic reporting, and database work.
Opportunities may cover economics, finance, business, law, human resources, communications, and sciences. Locations depend on the vacancy, including headquarters opportunities in London and roles connected to the Bank’s wider office network.
Benefits & funding
- Every internship is paid, but the general programme page does not publish a salary figure.
- Internships normally last 3–6 months and can be extended to a maximum of 12 months when the role requires it.
- EBRD can support the UK visa application of a candidate who receives an offer for a headquarters role.
Eligibility
- Applicants must be nationals of an EBRD member country; the structured nationality field lists all 77 country shareholders shown by EBRD.
- Spoken and written English fluency is required.
- For headquarters opportunities, applicants must be able to obtain the necessary UK visa.
- EBRD says applicants should normally be studying at postgraduate level or have just completed an undergraduate programme, with studies in progress or completed within the previous 12 months.
