The NextGen Leaders Program is Disability:IN’s yearly career-readiness program for college students, recent graduates and veterans with disabilities. Each participant is paired one-to-one with a mentor from a Disability:IN corporate partner.
The six-month program runs online, with monthly learning sessions, group discussions and contact with partner-company recruiters. Applicants can also seek a place at the in-person NextGen Talent Accelerator in Aurora (Denver area), Colorado, on 18–22 July 2027.
Benefits & funding
- No participation fee; plan on roughly 4–6 hours a month for six months.
- One-to-one mentoring, monthly career sessions, peer discussions and recruiter contact.
- About 50 Leaders are chosen for the in-person event; Disability:IN may cover registration, accommodations, airfare, hotel and meals, at its discretion and not guaranteed.
- No job, internship or preferred mentor is guaranteed.
Eligibility
- A current undergraduate, graduate or law student, or a graduate of 2025 or later, of an accredited college or university in North or South America.
- Self-identify as having any type of disability (physical, mental, neurological, learning, chronic health, genetic or other; it need not be visible).
- Located anywhere in North or South America, Caribbean and other territories included (e.g. Bermuda, Greenland).
- Any citizenship, but you need work authorization for the United States and/or your intended country of employment.
- Fluent written and spoken English for business and mentoring (the application form also accepts American Sign Language).
