Dalai Lama Fellows is a one-year leadership fellowship run jointly by the University of Virginia Contemplative Sciences Center and CU Boulder’s Renée Crown Wellness Institute.

Fellows keep their studies or jobs while leading a social change project in their own community. Over the year they follow an online curriculum of contemplative practice, coaching and group learning, then join a lifelong alumni network.

  • Expect about 12 hours a month plus project work, and a daily contemplative practice

Eligibility

  • Aged 20–36 on 1 April 2027; no exceptions
  • Any nationality; students and non-students alike
  • Fluent written and spoken English
  • Running a social change project, or a concrete plan to launch one within the first six months (ongoing projects preferred)
  • At least six months’ experience with the project community (one year preferred); living near it is strongly preferred
  • Individuals only, no teams; must attend the virtual assembly in May 2027
