The Curtin English Scholarship is a tuition credit from Curtin University for international students who reach their degree through a Curtin English course.
It returns what you paid for Gateway English or English Language Bridging (ELB), up to a cap, as credit on your undergraduate or postgraduate fees. There is no application: eligibility is shown in your conditional offer.
Benefits & funding
- A one-off credit equal to your English tuition, up to A$7,496 (the amount for courses starting in 2026); it varies by student.
- Tuition only, applied after you finish semester 1 of your degree and its census date.
- You first pay the English course: 2026 fees are A$3,603 per 6-week Gateway unit, A$5,688–A$11,708 for ELB, plus a A$300 enrolment fee.
Eligibility
- International students only.
- Studying Gateway English and/or ELB as a pathway into a Curtin degree.
- Your main (degree) course runs at least 1 year.
- Gateway English expects IELTS 5.0 or higher; ELB expects IELTS 5.5 or higher.
