Community College Faculty Award — Fellowship

Fulbright Denmark offers this Scholar Grant to U.S. community college faculty in any field. Applications go through the Fulbright U.S. Scholar Program, administered by IIE.

Grantees spend one semester as visiting scholars at a Danish institution that offers short, medium and long higher education, at community college or university level. Sustainability, space and life sciences are Fulbright Denmark’s focus areas, but all fields are supported.

Benefits & funding

DKK 200,000 for one semester of four to five months, in the 2028/29 academic year.

Eligibility

U.S. citizens by the application deadline; permanent residence is not enough.
Not eligible: anyone who lived abroad five or more of the six years before the deadline.
Faculty at a U.S. community college.
A strong invitation letter from the Danish host institution is required.
Past Fulbright Scholar grantees must wait two years after their previous award ends.
U.S. Department of State employees and their immediate families must wait one year after that employment ends.

Application process

Secure an invitation letter from a Danish host institution.

Apply online to the Fulbright U.S. Scholar Program; only one award per cycle.

Register two recommenders, whose letters are due by the application deadline; the invitation letter can be uploaded until ten days later.

After IIE peer review and Fulbright Denmark’s national review, the U.S. Department of State and the Fulbright Foreign Scholarship Board approve selection.
