The Columbia Center for Political Economy appoints full-time Postdoctoral Research Scholars to pursue their own research while supporting an Idea Lab. Scholars work in New York on political economy topics spanning work and labor, firms and industrial policy, climate, and international political economy.
The 2026–27 competition is closed. The program is intended for early-career scholars whose projects can contribute original research or writing on political economy.
Benefits & funding
- Salary of USD 72,116–80,000.
- Funding for up to one year, with the possibility of a one-year extension.

Eligibility
- Applicants must have a PhD, JSD, or equivalent in the social sciences, history, or law.
- Applicants may document degree completion or provide a timeline for obtaining the degree.
