Code First Girls +Masters is a four-week, instructor-led remote course in specialist technology subjects including DevOps and Cloud, Data for Business, Cyber Security, Java, and AI and Machine Learning. Code First Girls delivers it as an extension to its 16-week CFGdegree.
The course cannot be taken on its own: applicants must choose a sponsoring-company role that includes both the CFGdegree and +Masters. The latest +Masters listing is closed and linked to an AWS System Analyst role in Reading.
Benefits & funding
- Sponsoring companies cover the course cost, making the CFGdegree and +Masters free to successful applicants.
- The four-week +Masters includes eight hours of live teaching per week plus about four hours of assignments, group work, and revision.
- Learners who pass the final assessment receive a certificate recognising their specialisation.
Eligibility
- Applicants must meet the current page’s female-sex eligibility criterion and be at least 18 when applying.
- Applicants need a completed foundational coding course, such as a Code First Girls Coding Kickstarter Class or an equivalent, and must be able to pass the technical assessment.
- Applicants must commit to the 16-week CFGdegree and four-week +Masters and be available to accept a role in the sponsoring company’s selected working region.
- Nationality, residence, right-to-work, and security requirements depend on the sponsor role; the latest AWS listing required UK nationality, UK Government Security Clearance eligibility, and no visa sponsorship.
- +Masters is not available as a stand-alone course, and previous CFGdegree or Mid-Level Accelerator students cannot apply through the linked CFGdegree route.

Application process

- 2Code First Girls checks the general course requirements and the selected company’s role-specific criteria.
- 3Complete a technical assessment in Python, Data, or JavaScript and score at least 50%.
- 4Record a short video interview covering motivation and fit.
- 5Complete the sponsoring company’s interview and any additional role-specific assessment.
- 6Successful candidates receive placement confirmation, onboarding documents, and a contract.
