Official Page

The Spanish National Cancer Research Centre runs this annual summer training programme for undergraduates in biomedical, life-science or related degrees. Four students in the 2026 cohort joined CNIO research groups in Madrid for eight weeks of full-time laboratory training.

Participants work under a research supervisor, attend weekly seminars and present their results at the end of the programme. The 2026 cycle is closed and the official site has published the selected candidates.

  • Personal accident insurance is provided throughout the stay.
  • Participants from countries that do not issue the European Health Insurance Card receive private health and repatriation insurance unless they already have valid coverage.
  • Participants receive a certificate stating their training area after completing the programme.

Eligibility

  • Applicants may be of any nationality and must be enrolled in an undergraduate biomedical, life-science or related degree.
  • They must have completed at least two-thirds of the credits required for the degree.
  • They must remain undergraduate students for the entire programme period.
  • They must have a normalized grade-point average above 0.75 and good English.
  • They must be available full-time in Madrid from June 29 to August 21, 2026.
