The Climate Policy Innovators Youth Camp is an in-person capacity-building program led by UNFCCC RCC Asia-Pacific and YECAP, with UNDP Asia-Pacific and UNICEF among its 2026 partners. It prepares young people to engage in climate governance, Nationally Determined Contributions, National Adaptation Plans, and international climate negotiations.

The second edition brought 25 participants to the United Nations Conference Centre in Bangkok for four days of technical learning, applied exercises, peer exchange, and climate-diplomacy practice. The 2026 cycle has finished, and no date for the next call has been announced.

Eligibility

  • The program targets young people from Asia-Pacific countries.
  • Applicants must be at least 18 and remain within the youth age group defined by their own country.
  • Applicants must have prior or current engagement in climate-policy processes, including NDC or NAP formulation or implementation; no minimum number of years is stated.
  • Priority is given to young people from rural areas, low-income backgrounds, Indigenous Peoples, LGBTI communities, NEET groups, and other underrepresented constituencies.
  • No education-level, gender, or residency requirement is published.
