CFGdegree is Code First Girls’ part-time training programme for people seeking an entry-level technology career. Its 16-week curriculum combines a nine-week foundation track, a break week and a six-week specialisation in software and data engineering, data science, full-stack development or product management.

Teaching is delivered through live instructor-led sessions, with employer-sponsored roles, consultant placements and education-only pathways varying by cohort. Applications are currently closed; the official schedule says the next cycle’s applications are expected in November 2026.

Benefits & funding

  • The programme is free to learners, with no completion payment or debt.
  • Learners receive eight hours of live teaching per week and complete about four additional hours of assignments, group work and revision.
  • Depending on the place, successful learners may progress to a permanent employer role, opt into consultant placements or complete an education-only pathway.
  • Some sponsor places add a four-week +Masters specialisation after CFGdegree.

Eligibility

  • Applicants must be at least 18 when they apply and meet Code First Girls’ female-sex eligibility requirement.
  • No previous technology work experience or STEM background is required, but applicants need foundational coding knowledge sufficient for the technical assessment.
  • Applicants must be able to commit to the full 16-week programme.
  • Anyone who has previously studied CFGdegree or the Mid-Level Accelerator is ineligible.
  • Sponsor-specific routes may add location, right-to-work, education, security-clearance or availability requirements; applicants must meet the listing for their chosen route.
