Cambridge Trust Undergraduate Scholarships

Benefits & funding

• The Cambridge Trust Undergraduate Scholarship is a contribution of £10,000–£15,000 per year toward tuition fees, for applicants with overseas fee status.
• The award is tenable at any College of the University of Cambridge and in any subject.
• Across all study levels the Trust offers both full-cost and part-cost scholarships.
• Home fee status applicants are considered for Trust-funded outreach scholarships, including the Stormzy Scholarship, the Formula 1 Engineering Scholarship and the Gordon Edge Scholarship.
• Students with Home fee status may hold a Cambridge Bursary Scheme award alongside Cambridge Trust funding.

Eligibility

• You must have applied to the University of Cambridge by the relevant deadline and hold a conditional offer of admission.
• You must show evidence of significant academic achievement and potential, and of financial need; some awards are made on academic merit alone.
• Both Home and Overseas fee-paying applicants are supported; some partner-funded awards are reserved for particular nationalities, Colleges or other stated criteria.
• You must meet the University’s entry requirements, including an English language test where one is needed.
• The Trust does not fund a degree at the same level as, or a lower level than, one you already hold. The single exception is an international applicant coming to Cambridge as an affiliated student for a second BA.
• Applicants who are already part-way through a Cambridge course are not considered, unless they are applying for funding toward a higher degree after graduating.
• Most scholars register full time; the Trust also considers part-time applicants where the University offers the course part time.

Application process

   Choose your course from the University’s undergraduate course directory, and name a College on your application or make an Open Application.

   Use the Trust’s Find a scholarship tool to list the awards you are eligible for, and read each listing for extra conditions.

   Submit your UCAS application by the published deadline; if it is late, the Trust says your funding application is unlikely still to be considered.

   Overseas fee rate applicants wait to be invited by their College to complete a Trust funding form after an offer; Home fee rate applicants apply through the University’s outreach scholarships page, which runs its own application round.

   Submit any separate application a specific scholarship listing requires, alongside your UCAS form and conditional offer.

   Wait for the Trust’s awards period, which runs from March to July; awardees are contacted, and unsuccessful applicants are not notified.
