Eligibility
- Applicants must be prospective students applying for the full-time PhD in Asian and Middle Eastern Studies, with Japanese Studies as the subject area; the funded level of study is PhD.
- The course requires at least 67% in a relevant bachelor’s degree and, by the course start date, a relevant master’s qualification at 67% or above, measured against UK standards or the overseas equivalent.
- The proposed research must place Japan within the wider context of the world.
- Selection is based on academic merit and financial need.
- The scholarship may be held at any Cambridge College.
