The University of Bologna offered 13 scholarships for the 2025–26 academic year. They support students enrolled in first-cycle, second-cycle, or single-cycle degree programmes whose home-country conditions make university access difficult or impossible for a significant part of the population.
Applicants could apply before finalising enrolment, but had to be enrolled at the University of Bologna when the award was made. The call closed on 20 November 2025.
Benefits & funding
- Each scholarship is worth €9,000 gross, including charges borne by the institution and recipient.
- Winners receive €5,000 gross after the call closes and €4,000 gross after completing at least one-third of the credits in their study plan.
- The scholarship cannot be combined with a 2025–26 ER.GO scholarship, a Unibo4Refugees programme, or another University of Bologna or ER.GO hardship scholarship for that year.
Eligibility
- Applicants must be enrolled in a first-cycle, second-cycle, or single-cycle University of Bologna degree programme for 2025–26 when the scholarship is awarded.
- Applicants must come from a country where conflict, discriminatory policies, or similar circumstances make access to university difficult or impossible for a significant part of the population.
- The application must explain objectively verifiable conditions affecting the applicant’s university career in their home country; the call does not publish a fixed list of eligible countries.
