Bonner Program Scholarship — Master's Scholarship

NYU Wagner offers the Bonner Program Scholarship with the Bonner Program for alumni pursuing graduate study in public service. Up to two recipients receive support for an MPA or Master of Urban Planning, with either full-time or part-time enrollment.

The scholarship is available only for fall enrollment in New York City. NYU Wagner’s application portal is currently accepting applications for Fall 2027.

Benefits & funding

Up to two Bonner alumni receive a scholarship covering half of tuition.
Both full-time and part-time study are eligible.
NYU Wagner waives the application fee for Bonner alumni regardless of the semester for which they apply, although this scholarship is limited to fall enrollment.

Eligibility

Be a Bonner alumnus or alumna.
Apply for the Master of Public Administration or Master of Urban Planning at NYU Wagner.
Apply for fall enrollment; full-time and part-time applicants are eligible.
Hold a four-year bachelor’s degree from an accredited U.S. institution or an equivalent degree from another country before enrollment.
NYU Wagner publishes no separate nationality, residency, age, gender, or work-experience requirement for this scholarship.

Application process

Complete the MPA or MUP admission application and submit the required essays, resume, two recommendations, and transcripts.

Select the relevant Bonner affiliation in the Wagner Community section of the application.

Request the application-fee waiver and wait for Admissions to confirm it before paying the fee.

Submit a complete admission application; NYU Wagner considers merit-based scholarships through the admissions review rather than a separate scholarship application.
