Bonn Climate Camp is an independent, volunteer-run gathering held beside the UN climate talks in Bonn. Climate-justice movements use the physical camp to organize, connect, learn and rest through workshops, open events and shared space.
The 2026 edition ran from 7 to 18 June near the UN conference venue. The camp itself did not provide UNFCCC accreditation.
Benefits & funding
- The camp offered workshops, open events, organizing and strategy space, practical support and a free dinner for participants each evening from 7 to 18 June 2026.
- Tent space was available mainly to on-site volunteers; the separate BedExchange could try to match visitors with hosts but did not guarantee accommodation.
- General participants could attend without Bridge funding and otherwise arranged their own travel and accommodation.
- Through the separate Bonn Climate Camp Bridge route, a small number of selected advocates and activists from the Global South could receive fully funded travel support.
Eligibility
- Camp activities were open to everyone who agreed with the camp’s values; no nationality, residency, degree, age or experience requirement was stated.
- Individuals could participate or volunteer, while groups could use the space for activities, request an overnight stay or propose a programme contribution.
- Bridge applicants had to be groups, initiatives or established NGOs working on intersectional climate justice and could nominate up to two participants.
- Participation in the camp did not include accreditation for the UNFCCC conference.
