Bloomberg’s Quantitative Finance Ph.D. Fellowship supports full-time doctoral students working on hard problems in quantitative finance. Run by Bloomberg L.P. through its Tech at Bloomberg group, the fellowship pairs a year of financial support for a fellow’s doctoral studies with a required 14-week paid summer research internship at Bloomberg in New York, where fellows work alongside the firm’s quantitative researchers on a research-focused project. It is aimed at students whose work advances the field of quantitative finance.

Eligibility

  • Full-time doctoral (Ph.D.) students during the 2026-2027 academic year.
  • Expected Ph.D. graduation date in or before the end of 2029.
  • Research focused on quantitative finance.
  • Must hold self-sponsored US work authorization (F-1 OPT or other EAD) covering the full internship and fellowship period — Bloomberg does not sponsor any US visa.
  • Open to applicants of any nationality who meet the above requirements.

Application process

    Prepare a CV and a two-page research proposal (excluding references), written for a technical quantitative-finance audience and formatted with Bloomberg’s required Overleaf template.
